Philip Mathews - Author

Philip Santhosh Mathews was born on July 27, 2000, and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 22, 2019. Philip was the first child of Santhosh and Susan Mathews and big brother (Chacha) to Sara and Caleb. After spending his first six years at Siskin Children’s Institute, he attended Westview Elementary School. He was accepted into The McCallie School in 2012 and graduated from high school on May 19, 2019.

Philip was the inspiration behind Love Without Reason and began his humanitarian passion at the age of ten.  He was a missionary who carried the Good News of the gospel to many countries of the world.  He was a musician and worshipper who played his guitar and brought healing to souls.  He was a motivator who shared his story and inspired young and old alike to “Never Give Up.” He shared his love of philanthropy with every thought, dream and action.  After winning the Youth In Philanthropy award for the 2018 Association of Fundraising Professionals Southeastern Region, Philip started the Facebook live event “The PHILanthropy Moment” which is live every Sunday at 5pm Eastern time.  He shared pearls on philanthropy, food and football.  His siblings, Sara and Caleb continue the show.

Philip’s story and this inspiring work is sure to motivate every reader with faith that overcomes obstacles, love that penetrates barriers,  and hope that presses through despair. In both Philip’s words and in his life, you will find the courage to go against the odds and the conviction to live for something that will outlive your own life. This is a story of purpose that could not be extinguished by pain. This is a story of a family that stood together for both life and well-being. This is a story that proves that nothing is impossible with God. Philip’s story can be your story too.

Libin Abraham, Pastor of Multisite Ministry, Sugar Creek Baptist Church

"Philip was an extraordinary young man whose love for life and people was not hindered by his physical condition. Despite his hardships, he was determined to smile and encouraged everyone around him to do the same. He will always be remembered by his tenacity, humor and determination. If Philip can, we all can!"

Abey Joseph, Pastor, Chattanooga Christian Assembly

Meeting Philip Mathews was a life changing experience. At first listening to the testimonies from the father mother, grandparents from both families was spell binding and faith provoking. His pregnancy, birth and early childhood was so challenging to the immediate family and even the medical fraternity. However a ministry that is touching many who are affected and inflicted like himself was birthed from the tears of the parents and his pain which he continued to bear till his last breath. What Philip achieved in 19 years many people will not even accomplish in their life time. I salute your life Philip. Even beyond death you are and will continue to touch and transform lives. Whatever the enemy meant for evil the Lord has turned it for the good of His people. Shalom
